of proud fathers and their sons....Happy Fathers' Day!

Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party.
After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room. Those who remained talked about their kids.

The first guy said, "My son is my pride and joy. He started working at a successful company at the bottom of the barrel. He studied Economics and Business Administration and soon began to climb the corporate ladder and now he's the president of the company. He became so rich that he gave his best friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday."

The second guy said, "Darn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and joy. He started working for a big airline, and then went to flight school to become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in the company, where he owns the majority of its assets. He's so rich that he gave his best friend a brand new jet for his birthday."

The third guy said: "Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction company and is now a multimillionaire. He also gave away something very nice and expensive to his best friend for his birthday…………..A 30,000 square foot mansion."

The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth returned from the restroom and asked:
"What are all the congratulations for?" One of the three said: 
"We were talking about the pride we feel for the successes of our sons.
What about your son?"

The fourth guy replied: "My son is gay and makes a living dancing as a stripper at a nightclub."
The three friends said: "What a shame...what a disappointment."




The fourth guy added: "No, I'm not ashamed. He's my son and I love him. And he hasn't done too bad either. His birthday was two weeks ago, and he received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet and a top of the line Mercedes from his three boyfriends.

They fainted!

A Needle & A Stroke Patient..........(Saved)

This advice is from a Chinese Professor . 

Keep a syringe or needle in the home to do this. It is an amazing and an unconventional way of recovering from stroke. Read it through and pass it on, you never know, it can help somebody one day.

This is amazing. Please keep these excellent tips very handy. Do take time to read this.

When stroke strikes, the capillaries in the brain will gradually burst. When a stroke occurs, stay calm. No matter where the victim is, do not move him/her. Because, if moved, the capillaries will burst!

Help the victim to sit up, where he/she can be prevented from falling over again and then the 'blood letting' can begin.
If you have a syringe in your home, that would be the best, otherwise, a sewing needle or a straight pin will do.
 
1). Place the needle/pin over fire to sterilize it and then use it to prick the tips of all 10 fingers.
2). There are no specific acupuncture points, just prick about a mm from the fingernail.
3). Prick till blood comes out.
4). If blood does not start to drip, then squeeze with your fingers.
5). When all 10 digits is bleeding, wait a few minutes then the victim will regain consciousness.
6). If the victim's mouth is crooked, then pull on his ears until they are red.
7). Then prick each earlobe twice until two drops of blood comes from each earlobe. After a few minutes the victim should regain consciousness.
 
Wait till the victim regains his/her normal state without any abnormal symptoms then take him/her to the hospital. Otherwise, if he/she was taken to the hospital in the ambulance immediately, the bumpy trip will cause all the capillaries in his/her brain to burst.

If he/she could barely manage to walk, then it is by the grace of God that he/she is saved. I learned about 'letting blood' to save life, from a Chinese traditional doctor, Ha Bu Ting, who lives in Sun Juke.

Furthermore, I had practical experience with it, therefore, I can say this method is 100% effective.
 
In 1979, I was teaching in Fung Gaap College in Tai Chung. One afternoon, I was in a class when another teacher came running to my classroom and painting said, 'Ms Liu, come quick, our supervisor has had a stroke!'. I immediately went to the 3rd floor. When I saw our supervisor, Mr. Chen Fu Tien, his colour was off, his speech was slurred, his mouth was crooked-all the symptoms of a stroke. 
I immediately asked one of the practicum students to go to the pharmacy outside the school to buy a syringe, which I used to prick Mr. Chen's 10 fingers tips. After a few minutes when all 10 fingers were bleeding (each with a pea-sized drop of blood), Mr. Chen's face regained its colour and his eyes' spirit returned. 
But his mouth was still crooked. So I pulled on his ears to fill them with blood. When his ears became red, I pricked his right earlobe twice to let out two drops of blood. When both earlobes had two drops of blood each, a miracle happened. 
Within 3-5 minutes the shape of his mouth returned to normal and his speech became clear. We let him rest for a while and have a cup of hot tea, then we helped him go down the stairs, drove him to Wei Wah Hospital. He rested one night and was released the next day to return to school to teach! Everything worked normally. There were no ill after effects.
On the other hand, the usual stroke victim would usually suffer, irreparable bursting of the brain capillaries on the way to the hospital. As a result, these victims never recover. 
Stroke is also the second commonest cause of death. The lucky ones will stay alive but can remain paralysed for life. It is such a horrible thing to happen in ones life.

If we can all remember this 'blood letting' method and start the life saving process immediately, in a short time, the victim will be revived and regain 100% normality.' (God Willing)

Fasting May Promote Heart Health

For centuries, people have fasted in the name of religion, weight loss or protest. Researchers at Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute recently revealed that the practice not only leads to weight loss, but could also improve cardiovascular health.

In their study, the team of scientists found that people who fasted for sporadic 24-hour periods had lower levels of blood triglycerides, body fat and glucose than their counterparts who did not skip meals.

The researchers said that fasting causes the body to release cholesterol, which, counterintuitively, reduces body fat.

"Fasting causes hunger or stress. In response, the body releases more cholesterol, allowing it to utilize fat as a source of fuel, instead of glucose. This decreases the number of fat cells in the body," said lead researcher Benjamin D. Horne, Ph.D.

Study authors noted that a decrease in fat cells means more than reduced flab. It also reduces the chance of becoming resistant to insulin, which is a major cause of diabetes.

Additionally, fasting causes human growth hormone levels to rise, providing protection for lean muscle mass.

Ladies...............Beware of Mirrors in Public Facilities.

Do you know how to determine if a mirror in a room, restroom, hotel etc. is a mirror or a 2-way mirror?

When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror. (They can see you, but you can't see them)
Do this simple test:
Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror.

Malaysians & S'poreans Only!!!!!!!



Have you heard about the proposal between KIA of Korea and SUZUKI of Japan to set up a joint venture company in Singapore to build a hybrid car which will be named KIASU?

Well, Dr M really wanted to sell it to the US, so when Dr M paid a visit to the White House after finishing formal discussions with George Bush, Dr M checks with Bush to find out if there is a way
to sell the Kancil in the USA .

After having looked at the brochure, Bush said, You know, I think this 'Kernchill' is too small for us Americans.

Not one who gives up easily, Dr M persisted and finally Bush offered, 'Ok, take this number down.

This guy is my good buddy and he's also the CEO of the biggest compact car distributor in North America '.

Dr M was satisfied with the meeting and return to Malaysia.

One fine day, Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong visited India to meet their PM to negotiate trade terms.
During the lunch break the Prime Minister of India suggested taking PM Goh for a spin in his helicopter
and view India 's city lifestyle.


As PM Goh was enjoying the bird's eye view from above, he noticed an overpopulated village with unhygienic living conditions. A man was even shitting in his backyard. PM Goh was fast to comment how unsightly it is and that India 's people are so uncivilised.


India's PM was so humiliated and vowed to himself that he'll humiliate PM Goh when he gets to visit S'pore. When he really did visit S'pore the following month, PM Goh too offered him a ride in his helicopter to see the Singaporean lifestyle.


For a whole hour, India 's PM was trying hard to spot a fault. Finally he saw a place where people literaly littered the streets, and as he had a closer look, he even noticed a man shitting on the grass verge. He quickly pointed out to PM Goh about it and said,'You said Singapore was nothing like India .

How do you account for this?'


PM Goh looked closer, smiled and replied 'Aaahhh.. we call that place - Little India'.

An old guy was in mall the other day, pushing his shopping trolley around, when he collided with a young guy also pushing a trolley.

He said to the young  guy, "Sorry about that. I'm looking for my wife and I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

The young guy says, "That's OK. It's just a coincidence. I'm looking for my wife, too. I can't find her and I'm getting a little desperate"

The old guy said, "Well, maybe we can help each other out. What does your wife look like?"

The young guy  says, "Well, she is 24 years old, tall, with long blond hair,  green eyes, long legs, big boobs and she's wearing tight  white shorts, a halter top and no bra. What does your wife look like?"

The old guy said, "Doesn't matter. C'mon, Let's  look for yours."

Healthy Lungs in 2 minutes!



Two minutes in the morning and two minutes in the evening and your lungs may be breathing fine for a very long time. We're talking about brushing your teeth.
As you've no doubt heard, good dental hygiene helps prevent gum disease. But what you might not know? A recent study suggests that gum disease may open the door to some pretty serious lung diseases.

The Mouth-Lung Connection
Smoking remains the leading cause of serious respiratory diseases, such as lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The recent study did not conclusively prove that gum disease is another direct cause of COPD. But people in the study who were hospitalized with COPD and other types of lung disease had significantly higher rates of gingivitis and periodontal disease than the folks in a control group who had healthy lungs. It's not clear what the connection is. But we know that the bacteria from dental plaque, when inhaled into the lungs, not only can cause COPD exacerbations but also might trigger respiratory infections in healthy people. (Check out a healthful protein choice that may hinder the development of COPD.)


A Double Threat
For good gum -- and lung -- health, brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes. Even better, brush after every meal if you can. And floss daily. The key is to keep dental plaque -- that sticky, bacteria-filled film that forms on teeth -- from building up and causing gingivitis and periodontal disease. Research shows that spending at least two minutes brushing each cleaning session is ideal for removing plaque

"Doctor, Doctor, You've got to help me - I just can't stop my hands shaking!"
"Do you drink a lot?"
"Not really - I spill most of it!"


A man speaks frantically into the phone, "My wife is pregnant, and her contractions are only two minutes apart!"
"Is this her first child?" the doctor queries.
"No, you idiot!" the man shouts. "This is her husband!"


A young woman went to her doctor complaining of pain.
"Where are you hurting?" asked the doctor.
"You have to help me, I hurt all over", said the woman.
"What do you mean, all over?" asked the doctor, "be a little more specific."


The woman touched her right knee with her index finger and yelled, "Ow, that hurts." Then she touched her left cheek and again yelled, "Ouch! That hurts, too." Then she touched her right earlobe, "Ow, even THAT hurts", she cried.


The doctor checked her thoughtfully for a moment and told her his diagnosis, "You have a broken finger."

Who are you?

A middle aged woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near death experience. Seeing God she asked "Is my time up?" God answered, "No, you have another 40 years, 2 months and 8 days to live."

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a facelift, liposuction, and a tummy tuck. She even had someone come in and change her hair color. Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it.

After her last operation, she was released from the hospital. While crossing the street on her way home, she was hit by a car and died immediately.

Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another 40 years, why didn't you pull me from out of the path of the car?"

God replied, "I didn't recognize you."

Maintaining a Healthy Heart

The Top 10 Tips For Better Heart Health

How can you make sure your heart keeps going pitter-patter, without going kerplunk? Let us count the ways...

Here are our top 10 tips for a healthy ticker:

1. Fill up on fiber. Not only does fiber help lower levels of LDL ("bad") cholesterol, it can aid weight management. Being overweight raises your risk of heart failure by a third, while being obese doubles it. While two-thirds of Americans are too heavy, only half get enough fiber. Top sources include oats, beans, raspberries, blackberries, oranges and green peas.

2. Go bananas. I did when I learned that 99 percent of women and 90 percent of men don't get enough potassium in their diet. Responsible for regulating the fluid balance in our cells, potassium also blunts the effects of excess sodium. Too much sodium and too little potassium is a recipe for high blood pressure. Strike a healthier balance by cutting back on salt and increasing potassium intake with bananas, potatoes, broccoli and kiwi.

3. Say "no" to that extra cup of joe. Four or more cups of daily brew could elevate blood levels of homocysteine, an amino acid associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Drinking more than two cups of coffee a day can harden the arteries and contribute to arteriosclerosis. Switch to tea; its heart-healthy benefits include lower blood pressure and reduced inflammation.

4. "Beet" heart disease. Beets contain the antioxidant betanin, which can help keep LDL cholesterol from clogging your arteries, according to a study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. Moreover, this root vegetable is a good source of folic acid, which helps to break down that heart-hurtin' homocysteine. Top sources of folic acid include spinach, broccoli, romaine lettuce and papaya.

5. Become a better listener. University of Baltimore researchers found that people with "dominant personalities" had a 47 percent higher risk of heart disease when compared to their more patient, passive peers. So how do you know if you're "dominant"? Another study identified several markers - including the tendency to interrupt!

6. The "L" word your heart truly longs for: lycopene. This heart-healthy phytonutrient -; found in tomatoes, watermelon and pink grapefruit - may lower cholesterol levels and reduce inflammation. Harvard researchers found that eating seven or more servings of tomatoes a week might reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by 30 percent.

7. Choose healthy fats. Monounsaturated fats (think olive oil, avocado, nuts) - when used in place of saturated fats (think butter, bacon, beef) -help lower cholesterol. Another healthy fat - omega-3 - helps reduce inflammation. Omega-3 sources include wild salmon, walnuts and flaxseed.

8. Don't turn breakfast into break-feast. While skipping breakfast actually lowers your metabolism, going overboard is no better. A new study done at the University at Buffalo found that big fatty breakfasts trigger the release of inflammatory chemicals associated with clogged arteries. So skip the stack of flapjacks and opt for a strawberry-banana smoothie.

9. Ode to soy. Twenty-five grams of soy protein per day can help lower cholesterol, according to the American Heart Association. Soy's other heart-healthy nutrients include folic acid and magnesium (which helps maintain normal blood pressure). Soymilk, edamame, tofu and soynuts are just some of the many ways to enjoy soy.

10. Go for a raise. In HDL cholesterol, that is. Higher levels of this "good" cholesterol can be almost as important as low levels of LDL cholesterol at keeping cardiovascular disease at bay. In addition to exercise, quitting smoking and limiting trans fats, a University of Scranton study found that drinking cranberry juice could help boost HDL levels.

Condolences N Heartfelt Pain To The People Of Japan!

Hi y'all. Had been a trying weekend.
Missus was admitted into a medical facility for severe hypertension.

Symptoms presented on admission was atypical of a heart attack. (FYI, women's heart attack symptoms can be very misleading and often time's misunderstood)

After the Plavix,  the chest XRAYs and 4 ECGs later, the coast was declared clear.
I could hear myself 'phewing' a sigh of relief. Alhamdullilah, praise to the Almighty!

It wasn't the heart, but a 'silent killer' instead.

After a couple of days of eratic blood pressure behaviour, missus was finally discharged.

Accompanying her home was a cocktail of BP meds. Now i have company,(as much as i would rather not have any) and what better or unfortunate company than ones own spouse.

Preparing breakfast foods does not have to be a time-consuming process. With a little planning, everyone can enjoy the health benefits derived from eating a breakfast each day.

Here are some quick and easy breakfast ideas:

At home –
  • Bowl of instant oatmeal or oat bran topped with fruit and/or walnuts, skim milk or low fat soy milk.
  • Bowl of ready-to-eat high fiber cereal topped fruit and/or walnuts, skim milk or low fat soy milk.
  • 2 slices whole-grain toast, English muffin, pita or bagel topped with 2 Tbsp. Peanut butter, 1 tsp. trans-fatty acid free margarine or 2 Tbsp. Nonfat cream cheese.
  • 6-8 oz. nonfat or 1% yogurt topped with fruit, nuts or granola.
  • 4 oz. nonfat or 1% cottage cheese, served with tomato or pineapple slices.
  • 2 low-fat hard granola bars with 8 oz. skim milk or low-fat soy milk.
  • 2 egg-equivalent egg white or egg substitute omelet served on whole grain toast with orange wedges.
  • Whole grain bagel topped with ½ cup nonfat or 1% cottage cheese; broiled for 5 minutes until bagel crispy, then topped with berries or fruit of choice.
  • 8 oz. yogurt, fruit of choice and 2 Tbsp. Ground flax seeds or wheat germ with ice – blend in blender and serve.

1 Hour later & 24 servings of Fat Free Chocolate Cookies.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup sugar, divided
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Line two baking sheets with foil.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, sift together cocoa, salt, and ¼ cup sugar. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar with electric mixer at medium-low speed, until soft peaks form. Beat in remaining ¼ cup sugar, teaspoonful at a time, until meringue is glossy and stiff peaks form. Fold in cocoa mixture and vanilla extract.
  4. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 1-inch apart onto baking sheets. Bake 25 minutes for soft, chewy cookies, or 40 minutes for crisp cookies. Let cool before dusting cookies with confectioners' sugar.

Things to do everyday ......for a healthy heart !

Try following some of these tips in your everyday routine. Take advantage of any opportunity for exercise. Try some today.
  • Take the stairs instead of an elevator or escalator at school or the mall. Just start with one flight. Soon, you'll be ready for two.
  • Park your car at the far end of the parking lot. The short walk to and from the store or school helps your heart.
  • If you ride a bus or train, get off a stop before your destination. Walk the rest of the way.
  • If you can, spend a few minutes of your lunch break taking a stroll . It should help you stay awake after lunch.
  • Think of housework as an extra chance to exercise. Vacuuming briskly can be a real workout.
  • Washing the car, pulling weeds, and raking leaves are chores that can be done yourself as a chance to exercise.
  • If you have a dog, think of the dog as an exercise machine with fur. A brisk walk with the dog is good for both of your hearts. Make it a part of your daily routine.
  • If you have a family, schedule an after-dinner walk. Make it quality time.

Naughty, Naughty.....

An elderly woman goes to the doctor and asks his help to revive her husband's sex drive.
"What about trying Viagra?" asks the doctor. 
"Not a chance," says Mrs.. Murphy.


"He won't even take an aspirin for a headache." 
"No problem," replies the doctor.
"Drop it into his coffee, he won't even taste it.
Try it and come back in a week to let me know how you got on."


A week later Mrs.Murphy returns to the doctor and he inquires as to how things went.
"Oh it was terrible, just terrible doctor." 
"What happened?" asks the doctor.
"Well I did as you advised and slipped it in his coffee.


The effect was immediate. He jumped straight up, swept the cutlery off the table, at the same time ripping my clothes off and then proceeded to make passionate love to me on the tabletop. It was terrible."


"What was terrible?" said the doctor, "was the sex not good?" "Oh no doctor, the sex was the best I've had in 25 years, but I'll never be able to show my face in McDonald's again."
